Interior planning for Viennese coffeehouses—from Neubau to the Innere Stadt.
Kaffee Raum Studio was founded to address a gap we saw repeatedly: beautiful café fit-outs that ignored how Viennese rooms actually work. Counter queues that block the pastry case. Bentwood chairs packed so tightly that waitstaff cannot pass with a tray. Cloak hooks forgotten until the first winter coat pile.
We plan interiors around the rituals of a Viennese Kaffeehaus—morning Melange at the bar, afternoon newspapers at marble-topped tables, evening Kaffee und Kuchen with dessert orders from the display. Every measurement serves those moments.
Our studio sits on Neubaugasse in the seventh district, surrounded by the kind of neighbourhood cafés we help others build. We work with independent owners, heritage renovations, and operators opening their first Viennese room.

The bar, pastry vitrine, and payment point must work as a single sequence—visible from the door, clear under pressure, unhurried when quiet.
Bentwood chairs need breathing room for elbows and tray service. We calculate seat counts that feel full without feeling cramped.
Pastry and cake cases belong where guests decide before they sit—not hidden behind a column or tucked past the toilets.
Vienna winters demand a proper vestibule. Hooks, umbrella stands, and bag shelves near the entrance keep aisles clear all day.
Whether you are renovating a heritage coffeehouse or opening a new neighbourhood café, we start with a review of your space and service style.
